A lecture was taken by Dr. G.C.Sethi, Head of the Department of Political Science regarding Transgender Protection Act (2019) on February 29, 2024. Sir talked about the Act in detail and emphasized gender equality in all respects. Various issues and law related with the protection of transgender were discussed by the sir. Sir appealed to the students to have positive mindset for the changes in the society towards Transgender Protection.
An awareness lecture was held in the college to sensitize the students regarding the issues of Transgender Persons on October 3, 2023.
Transgender Persons (Rights) Act, 2019 Awareness
Lecture was held on 14/09/2023 in the PGGC-46. Sh. Amit, Counselor of the
transgender Protection Cell from the Dept. of Social Welfare, Chandigarh
provided awareness of schemes like provision of Identity Cards for Transgender
Persons, single window in Hospital of TG person, appointment of Complaint
Office and many more. He also handed over the hard copy of the Transgender
Persons (Rights) Act, 2019. Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff attended the
lecture.
